One Thursday, Fliss asks "can you keep Sunday free?" I reply "yeah, but why?" Fliss casually replies "I'm starting University on Monday and need a lift to my halls of residence." Fliss had applied and succeeded in gaining a place to study for a degree in Media and Politics at the University of Wolverhampton. She had kept the whole process from myself and her mother until this moment 4 days before her degree started! Even though we were shocked, in hindsight we were not surprised by the tardiness of this announcement, she could be very self sufficient at times!
